Armenia
 EMDAP
Adviser Patrick Ball working with small businesses in rural Armenia on a
USAID-funded market development project. The Fellow serves as a
business consultant on the non-farm rural initiative (NFRE) team,
which seeks to build market linkages with small businesses that are
economically disadvantaged due to their remote geographic location.
Here, the Adviser is working with a stone processing business and a
local wood products manufacturer.

Chargers fan Jeffrey Bishop next to a microenterprise client who specializes in
handmade carpets called "tapete." The client received
a loan to help him buy more materials in
bulk to make the tapetes. Behind them
is a huge tapete he is in the process of making.

EMDAP Adviser Robyn Harris participating
in the "Rebuild Iraq 2005" conference with the American Chamber of
Commerce in Jordan, held in April 2005 at the Amman International
Fairgrounds.
Two EMDAP Advisers in Aqaba were involved in the development
of the port of Aqaba, Jordan. The goal is to increase the utilization
of Aqaba's ports through the capture of more tourism, trans-shipment,
and logistical enterprises to the Aqaba Special Economic Zone.
