Ecomaya is a small marketing firm located in Petén, Guatemala near Tikal, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Ecomaya is owned by community businesses that provide tourism services and products. EMDAP Adviser Jennifer Straghalis assisted Ecomaya's owners to capitalize the firm through the issuance and sale of shares in the Guatemalan market. By the end of her assignment Ecomaya was serving as the marketing body for approximately 17 micro- and small-tourism enterprises.
